The weekend is upon us and that means we need some cool games loaded up on our devices. The TNT team decided to look at the five best games that we think should be on your devices this weekend
Finding good Android games is a tough challenge, given the fact that there are so many categories to choose from and within each category, one has the mind boggling task to narrow down choices either from the top free or the top paid games. We understand the hassle and it is plain painful to come up with titles that are gold or to discover new hidden gems among millions of apps.We decided to scour through Google Play Store in search of games that would get you through this weekend of May and we came up with the five best Android titles that we think you ought to try.
1. Goat Simulator GoatZ
Put vampires and zombies together to make the gameplay mechanics revolve around just eating or killing others in order to survive and as a result, you get a pretty addictive game. At least that is what developers are now thinking. Well, Coffee Stain Studios think that there needs to be a twist from the usual vampire/zombie storyline. In comes Goat Simulator GoatZ, pegged at $4.99 from the Play Store, the simulator features goats and zombies in the same game. This is from the developers who brought Goat Simulator.
Zombies have proved to be an effective gameplay addition and the developers threw in goats, just because they wanted to have some fun. The game lets you craft anything your goat might desire with different modes and zombies everywhere. Download the app and start wreaking some goat-style havoc.
2. Earn To Die 2
Yes, we are hooked to the zombie theme and as mentioned above, they do serve as a fantastic addictive platform. You might have tried Earn To Die before and this is the sequel from Developer Not Doppler. If you do not know about Earn To Die then here is a summary. You have to drive your way through a zombie apocalypse, killing them in the process with unlockable weapons, cool upgrades, and a beat up car that one can upgrade as they progress through the stages.
So what's new about the sequel, Earn To Die 2? Well for starters, there are more zombies to kill, multi-tiered levels, which depart from the desert setting and enter the city setting. Plus your vehicles are now fully destructible, so be careful as you smash your way through zombie hordes. The racing game is free to download and install from the Play Store.
3. NBA JAM
We thought what if we pitched in a cool basketball game for all the Android fans out there. Well we stumbled upon NBA JAM from EA and we must say that this is a pretty interesting sports game. Jam with your favorite players, bring LeBron, and Shaq or Bryant, create your own dream team, and start dunking.
NBA Jam provides four different modes to choose from, you can jump directly into the game without any hassle, play a campaign mode, either go multiplayer via Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, or get online to play head-to-head with your G+ friends. There are some cool upgrades and moves to unlock, and you can even unlock cheats as you progress. The game is available on the Play Store but is not for free, so better take out some bucks if you want to shoot those hoops.
4. The Witcher Battle Arena
When is a game list complete without adding in a game from the MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) category. We decided to test the CD Projekt Red’s new mobile game “The Witcher Battler Arena” now available on iOS and Android devices. The gameplay mechanics are interesting and the graphic quality is pretty sweet. The game does justice to the MOBA genre for mobile devices.
The main highlight feature of The Witcher Battle Arena is that it is an interesting representation of F2P or freemium model. The game does require IAP (In-app Purchases), but it does not bog you down if you cannot buy items. All the items can be unlocked in the Battle Arena and at a normal pace, forget endless waiting. We think CD Projekt Red decided to care for mobile gamers as well.
5. The Quest Keeper
A little adventure can keep us all going, right? Especially if these quests are laid out in a voxel-based isometric setup like The Quest Keeper, which follows the procedural death labyrinths gameplay with each quest requiring you to fulfill a single objective. Gather gold, unlock new levels, equip yourself with items, and be sure to help the peasant survive by evading monsters and even killing them if need be.
The graphics requirement is not heavy enough, so users would not be stumped for a high-end device compatibility only and the best part is that The Quest Keeper is free to download from the Play Store right now.
