Through its Cisco Networking Academy curriculum
and a number of unique partnerships, Cisco Corporate SocialResponsibility (CSR) is empowering global problem solvers with
the skills they need to create social change around the globe. At CiscoLive US 2015, Cisco’s largest customer event from June 7 to June 11,
visit us in booth 1441 to see firsthand how you can become a global
problem solver and start using technology to solve the world’s social and
environmental challenges.
Cisco CSR highlights include:
- Student Career Day – Thursday, June 11: Corporate Social Responsibility will connect 600 students with IT professionals for career conversations and hands-on workshops, including a scavenger hunt, a Lego-building activity, and a Maker Faire workshop.
- CSR Partner Pavilion – June 8 to June 11: Six Cisco CSR Partners, from CyberPatriot to Water for People, will demonstrate how they’re working with Cisco to provide global problem solvers with the technology and know-how to create social good around the world.
- Give Back Activation – June 9 to June 10: More than 20,000 Cisco Live attendees will have the opportunity to join the global fight against hunger as part of the Stop Hunger Now activity on June 9 and June 10. Volunteers will spend 30 minutes assembling meal kits which will be delivered to hungry families around the world.
- Cisco Networking Academy Dream Team: As part of the Cisco Networking Academy Dream Team, 30 students will work side-by-side with the Cisco IT team to maintain the event’s massive networks and develop the hands-on skills they’ll need to thrive in the connected economy.
In addition, attendees will
have multiple opportunities to attend and view a number of different
sessions with Harbrinder Kang and Kathy Mulvany, Vice Presidents of Cisco
Corporate Affairs.
- “What Talent You Need and Why” – Wednesday, June 10: Harbrinder will share how Cisco is preparing today’s students for tomorrow’s jobs in the Internet of Everything during a sold-out breakout session.
- Cisco Live Broadcast Studio – Wednesday, Jun 10: Kathy will interview Tylor Kytasaari, a Dream Team student, Harbrinder Kang, and Digital Divide Data CEO Jeremy Hockenstein in the Cisco Live Broadcast studio to demonstrate how Cisco CSR is developing top talent for the IT workforce.
- Hub Theater Presentations – June 9 and June 10: As more devices connect to the Internet, more jobs will require technological skills. On June 9, Harbrinder will describe how we can prepare students for the digital world, and on June 10, Kathy will share how the Internet of Everything is being used for social impact.
