optimization strategies
1. Title
Title is the major part of any webpage. It should be shorter yet descriptive. Each page should have individual title. Make it rich with keywords but don’t stuff with too many of them. Don’t use filler words like “the” “and”, etc. Title should include the whole gist of the page, nothing less, nothing more.

2. Meta Description
Almost all search engines show this Meta description just below the title hyperlinked to your website. It should not include more than 2 sentences. Finish the brief of the whole page content in 160 characters. Use your main keyword / key phrase in it.
3. H1, H2, and H3
Search engine can differentiate H1, H2, and H3 contents. It considers it as keywords and key phrases. Use you major keyword in H1, H2 and H3 headlines. If you are using CSS in the web page, use it cautiously. CSS may be used to pretend a text as heading with uses of class and attributes. Don’t expect search engine to parse the CSS to discover which ones are the headings. If any text is showing up as a heading on the front-end of the page, it should be heading in the back too.
4. Keyword prominent & proximity
Placing the key words / phrases in the first paragraph is vital implement you need do to optimize your content according to search engine. The search engines expect the key words to be available in first paragraph of the content. In a paragraph of 100 words, don’t use the same keyword more the two times. Also the ratio of keyword is 100:3 that mean single keyword should not be used more than 3 times in a content piece of 100 words. If you can decrease the ratio, try to maintain it to 1.5% to 2% for high ranking words.
5. ALT Tag
So far search engines cannot read Images. So they cannot make differences between the images of a building and an orange. But search engine can be hinted what an image is all about by using ALT tag inside image tag. In alt=”___”, you can describe the image. Pages having ALT tag in images ranked higher than those do not have.
6. Image optimization
Image optimization is necessary for mobile users. They use different networks in their mobile devices and thus speed of different devices varies from each other. Here image optimization plays a vital role. The size of image needs to be decreased so that it can be downloaded even on slower network. That’s called image optimization.
7. Hyperlinks
Hyperlinks are the clues for search engines. Texts having hyperlinks are considered potentially important by search engines. Also to emphasize even more, the page you are linking could have the name of keyword or key phrase. For example if you are hyper-linking the text “best SEO practices” try to link it with the page having same name like “best-seo-practices.html”.
8. Navigation
Navigation helps each engine’s robot find pages of your site. Often time, modern websites uses interactive menus which are made using JavaScript and Flash. Manus created out of these technologies look pretty appealing and easy to us but not to search engine. Search engines do not read JavaScript and Flash very well. You can either create menu without the use of JavaScript and Flash or if it is possible, supplement it with a simple HTML linking in the bottom of the page. Also never set a navigation system with frames as they cause serious indexing problems.
9. URL structure
Some content management systems produce dynamic, made-on-the-fly web pages which are recognizable with question marks in the URL followed by long string of numbers or letter. Search engines have issues in reading these URLs and if there is question mark in it, it may refuse crawlers to go further. If your website is generating dynamic URLs and not getting desired indexing, consider about URL rewriting.
10. Sitemap
A sitemap lets search engine discover all the pages on your website. If you have a larger website you can use XML.Sitemaps.com to create XML sitemap. Search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo accurately index those websites which have XML sitemaps. Once you upload the sitemap, submit it to search engines with following the given instructions.
11. Keyword focused web pages
You may have multiple keywords and key phrases for your products and services. Putting all of them in a single page isn’t good idea as this will cause the issue called content stuffing. Let’s say you sell teddy bears. Now search the term teddy bears with Google Trend or Wordtracker to find related keywords people are searching nowadays. You may find related keywords like teddy bear, big teddy bears, teddy bear pictures, etc. You would not want to miss even a single user searching teddy bears. You can create individual page for each keywords you have discovered through keywords research tools.
12. Find tune your page
In last you can check your page for HTML related errors such as open or unclosed tags, broken hyperlinks, site load speed, page rendering speed, mobile site optimization, image optimization, etc.
